DAVID CLARKE

I am the author of several books that relate to my  life’s experience. I  was born in Oldham Lancashire, in 1949 and my bother Michael  and I became criminals in the 60’s.  We were sent to prison for malicious wounding and carrying a fire arm without a licence. On leaving Dover Borstal in 1968 I had a three year career of undetected crime and was arrested, but not by the police, during a bad trip on LSD. It was so bad I called out to God for help and Jesus spoke to me. As a result I tuned my life around and my back on crime to follow Christ. I leaned to read in order to educate my self, went on the higher education, became a lecturer and Baptist minister.  Since then I have written about my experience and understanding of the gospel in order to help others. And in a ventue to tell my story I have written a punk rock opera, called Borstal Boy, designed to be peformed in prisons.

 

I also tell of my brothers conversion to Christ after him serving 5 years of his 16 year prison sentence  in the Philippines, and of the work we did together in order to help other former criminas on thier road of reformation.
